Happy Birthday, Aidan!!
There he is--my baby boy--just turned four. {Yes--Aidan and Mia's birthdays are only 2 days apart. In fact, they shared the same due date, but Aidan came late and Mia came early!} Isn't my Aidan handsome with that one trouble-marker's dimple! When I was pregnant, Robert and I had the hardest time coming up with a name for him. I knew the name Aidan was becoming popular, and for that reason I was hesitant. One day I found an old Rich Mullins CD, and one of the songs was dedicated to his son, Aidan:

In college Robert and I saw a lot of well-intentioned Christians minister to people with such a heavy hand. It's our hope for our children that they can reach out to people in mercy and grace. After hearing those words, I was sold. AIDAN it would be.

Oh, I forgot to mention, I made the shirt... of course. You can order a tie embellishment on a onesie to match a pair of boy boots or shoes.
There he is, a blur. The only way I was able to get the pictures above was through good old-fashioned bribery. I'm amazed no gummy worms are dangling out of his mouth. Aidan also means "fiery," OH MY GOODNESS, how aprospo!
Lovely fall colors
This is one of my all time favorites. This is what I want for my children--to find fun and solace in a small patch of nature.

You don't know me (although I did order some of your Mia Joie clippies, which I LOVED!), but I just had to comment on this post. I, too, have an Aidan. He's 5 1/2 and I, too, struggled with naming him because the name was becoming more popular. I found the name 10 years ago and thought it was original, but I also loved the meaning of the name and (for me, personally) the spiritual significance (I'm a Christian, as well).
When you mentioned the Rich Mullins song, I got so excited! Out of our 4 kids, one is a Luciana (Lucy) and one is a Jude. Well, basically they both think they have songs named after them because people will sing the chorus of "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" or "Hey, Jude" to them. And Aidan always asks why there isn't a song with HIS name in it. We even had a talented song-writer friend who was willing to write a song for him, so he wouldn't feel left out. OK, long story to say THANK YOU for the info because now I tell him there's a song for him (one that I won't have to explain the lyrics for when he's older, either!). I love, love, love the words to it. My guy's personality is not as exuberant as your guy, but our prayer for our Aidan's is the same.

Tamar, my husband and I both read you comment and were really touched by your story. Did you listen to the song, yet? The baby has a juicy, giggly little laugh in the beginning that is just adorable. Hello, I stumbled across your site, as i was searching for a video of "Let mercy lead". Your little one is precious. My precious Aidan is now 12, boy does time fly. Continue to Pour out God's WORD to your babies. It is the most important thing we can do for them. I can't wait for my newly married niece to start having babies so i can order some cue things from you.
