Dolce Headband

In between sewing orders, I was spontaneously inspired to create something new. I have this beautiful and soft organic eucalyptus fabric. I've used it for shoes in the past, but thought it would be lovely in a headband. Thus, the image you see above, the dolce headband. It is hand-dyed is a pink vegetable-based pigment. The process gives it wonderful wrinkled striations. Mia wears is well, of course. ;) I was very snap-happy at sunset in the backyard and got several beautiful pictures of her. I wish it was just a half hour earlier, as the pictures would have been a lot less blue. For photogs reading, any tips on how to fix that? Anyway, I have plenty of pictures to post and hope to add the rest a bit later tonight. Oh, the little scarf is Mia Joie, and it's actually part of a dress that I haven't finished. When I post the rest of the pictures, I'll probably post another giveaway, too.

I definitely need to own this.
I don't believe that one can own enough baby headbands.

p.s. where do you get vegetable based dyes?

Hana--have fun in Arizona!

Sara, I got mine in Austin. Greener Shades makes a good all-natural dye. I'm not sure if you are familiar w/Austin, but it's sort of a hippie town and very green. Every time we go, I try to find some new and interesting fabrics. Last time, I went to this little shop called Silk Road and bought some beautiful vintage buttons; they were actually sequins off of flapper dresses. They are so pretty (and sort of expensive) I'm almost afraid to use them.

It's great, and of course she wears it well, she is a doll!!

When you are free from the burden of all your orders, I would love for you to make me a custom head band. I've been totally eyeing them up for some time now, I just need to find a more adult/fun one! Let me know when you have the time ok?!

I went to bed at a decent time last night and hope to get a lot done today, so I can get to bed early... or maybe actually relax in the evening ;) thanks for your tips; I think a studio is prob something I need to do!
