Snap Happy

Photobucket
Like I said in my previous post, I was just snapping away yesterday in the backyard. I think this picture might be my new favorite of Mia... the sunshine and the lighting. Wait until you see the picture of her brother *snicker.* See the whites in Mia's eyes just below her pupils? That's me! I was wearing a white tank top, and it's quite visible in the larger image. {If you're curious, you see just the reflection here.}

So, here are some more pictures of the Dolce Headband; as I said, it's hand-dyed and made from organic eucalyptus. I actually spoke to the manufactuer of this product, and it's pretty amazing; it's made in an entirely green facility. Very cool. Anyway, here are more pictures.

This one is pretty dark but I like the bokeh (blurred out part) of the ruffles.... I hope I get around to making the rest of that dress. It hought it would be nice to sell for Easter.

This picture was just me playing around with angles. I love the trees, but Mia was clearly fatigued of the all pictures.... her look to me says, "Really, mom? Another one??"

Lest he be left out, here are some pics of Aidan. He kept telling me to take pictures of Mia. He was making his guys fly and singing A Whole New World from Aladdin {the movie du jour}. As for an update on Aidan, I think we are going to make some changes to his school. I just heard a speaker discuss her encounters with autism, and they were vastly different from our experiences with Aidan. While there were some similarlities {delayed language, preference for routine, tantrums}, her child would self-stim {i.e. bang his head on the wall, roll on the ground, twirl, etc.} Aidan doesn't do these things. However, some of the other children in his class room do, and he's coming home telling me it scares him. I didn't observe any of this when I visited the class. We're scheduling a meeting to make some changes. Please keep it in your prayers!

Anyway, my little man.

I've gotten a lot of emails asking when I will reopen. They are always nice to read. :) As it is, I spent two days this week up until 4 am. I've realized that I am much much more efficient at night. This is especially hard, now that Aidan has to be ready for school by 7:30 am. I feel like even though I'm not open, I've still been working hard. Mia is so sweet and growing so fast, and before I know it Aidan will be in school. I don't want to look back with regret... wishing I would have read one more story, savored one last cuddle, made one more trip to the park. On the other hand, quite honestly, there are plenty of times where the inefficiency and, well... mess, of this age drives me absolutely batty. The creative, tangible outlet of Mia Joie is what keeps me sane. On top of all that, I am still working on a big business project. I'm trying to prayerfully weigh it all and be wise.

Finally, true to my word, the first person to leave a comment saving they want it wins a striped Mia Joie tie! Can't leave out my moms of boys! Have a lovely weekend!

Okay, I don't have boys, so you can take the next comment. My in-laws are in town and I am taking a break on the computer right now. I love Mia's scarf. These pictures are great! I might have a small easter project for you. I bought the girls hats and I need them fixed up to match their dresses.

That tie is just adorable! I don't have any boys though! Someone will be very lucky!

I'm a new reader and am absolutely in love with your style! Your children are just beautiful.

Such lovely pictures of Mia. I was wondering about Aidan! I love the peepee picture. We were at tball on Thursday night and my 3 year old decides to just drop his pants. When a boy has to go, a boy has to go. I stopped him and ran him to the bathroom and it was locked! So I took behind the building. I had no choice. I hope you find the right school for him. Have a great weekend! -Ariana

I love the Jasmine headband! I also love how alike Aidan and Mia look. You should take some picture of the two of them together....but that's probably much easier said than done.

The tie is adorable Jessica! So manly for tiny a little guy....

but, I tell you what. Our neighbors must think that we don't ALLOW our boys to use the restroom inside because if the weather is warm enough..all they want to do is wee in the woods.

Sigh.

Losing her mind right along with you,

Ugh, I've tried a few times to leave a comment and for some reason, it wouldn't let me, annoying :-/

Both Mia and Aidan have the most expressive eyes, beautiful. The one of Aidan doing his business in the yard is just so classic, my son like to do that sort of thing too, only its in the FRONT yard, for everyone to see!

The tie is awesome, so studly for a little man, too bad I am comment five! I've got boys! LOL!

Ariana and Sara, glad to know I'm not alone. You know, we were at the park on a saturday morning a month or so back when I caught him whizzing on a tree (thankful outside of the mulched area.) He's learned since then, though he knows the backyard is private--lol!

Clothesminded, photography them together! Oy vey! Just getting shots separate is hard (esp of Aidan.) Together would take copious amount of sugar as bribery. I can try...

Thanks, Cand, for stopping by! :)

Jewelori and Amy, I'll email you :)

Hey, there, Clarissa... haven't "seen" you in awhile. Hope you are well. That pic--I know... didn't even realize I caught him mid stream. *sigh*

Yesterday, I was swinging my daughter in the swing outside and all of a sudden a see a stream shooting through the sky, he was on top of the monkey bars/club house section peeing on the grass. GROSS!!! "HEY LOOK MOM, THIS IS THE LONGEST PEE EVER!"
