Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!

Aidan just dumped the remainer of the Frosted Flakes {Robert's sugary choice, not mine} all over the floor. So, I was walking over the cereal, my nerves tensing with every crunch, while I finished making the grilled cheese for the kids. That's when he spilled it. Aidan knocked over his entire cup of juice... all over his grilled cheese, the table, the floor. Ruined lunch. Sticky, soggy cereal. Ugh. Robert is working today. I am losing my mind. Any tips for slavaging the last vestige of my sanity???

Thanks, tash, I need 'em.

Lori, I've been thinking about locking myself in the bathroom and counting backward from 100. *snicker*

Get your husband to bring you home a box of chocolates and then get into a bubble bath tonight with a glass of red wine.

You seriously need some "me" time<3

Just an hour or so would make you feel so much better...

We actually have plans to night--Robert has $100 ea tickets for a very fancy wine dinner. Free for us--one of the perks of being married to a wine buyer. It can't come soon enough. AIdan is running around the backyard naked right now, upset b/c he can't find his favorite swimming trunks. It's just one of those days....

It's so hard, but you do take a deep breath and be thankful to God for even the not so pleasant things...isn't that hard for a mom to do? my youngest child just graduated from Kindergarden and it all goes by SO fast. Hang in there!Blessings-Melissa Clark

P.S. -I just ADORE your incredible things and smile each time I see them:)

Oddly enough, I find it very satisfying to go to the batting cages which are conviently situated at the nearby playground. The kids get to run around and tire themselves out, then mom gets to go hit a few baseballs and work out some stress. It's a technique I learned in highschool and its stuck with me ever since. The kids even call it my "swess ball" :) How early they learn...

I FEEL YOUR PAIN. I would put them in a safe room and shut the door and cry as I scrubbed the mess up. After I was done, I would probably put them in the car and drive around listening to music OR if my husband were home, I would say "here are your children" and get in the tub. I was cleaning earlier, thinking why do i bother if they are just going to mess everything up again. But then I would really go insane with mess everywhere.

When we're having one of those days, I think about how quickly (too quickly) this time will pass. When my baby's going off to college, I'll be WISHING we had this time back...naked temper tantrums and all.

Aaaahhh...I know the feeling! I walked in my sons room today only to find it covered w/ snow....ok, not really....it was actually covered w/ teeny tiny pieces of styrofoam that the girls managed to find and destroy (the cottage cheese looking teeny tiny styrofoam)!! I'm not talking a little bit....I'm talking EVERYWHERE! That stuff is soooo clingy and was stuck to the furiture, in the sheets, in the toy box, under the bed, floating in the air....sometimes I wonder why children feel the need to torment their mother's so. Anyway, hope your day got better...a candlelit bubble bath sounds like a dream!

Breathe in and out, that's about all you can do when it comes to toddlers. When you can't breathe anymore then you know there is a real problem :) I did have a little giggle over your post because I have soooo been there, done that... and I am proud to day that me, and my children, are still alive and well! ;)

This is late and I am hoping you've caught your breath by now but I do relate to the "Ahhhhhh!!!" and have felt it many times my self. I will pray for better days this week.

Well, It's a new day... and I hope things are looking brighter!

I agree with Melissa and Theresa's advice, because if nothing else, i've learned that time goes by so fast... and soon, you will look back on these days and find they hold many of your sweetest memories.

As far as taking a candlelit bath, seriously... does that happen?
For me, I would realize the bath needed cleaning, then notice.. so does the sink and floor, etc... which would lead to me scrubbing every bit of the bathroom ending in complete exaustion and frustration, lol!!! Isn't that just how it works out sometimes?

Nevertheless, I hope you enjoyed your evening out and that your day ended with a smile!

Take care
Kristy

Tasha, do you want it on a braided band, like this: http://i337.photobucket.com/albums/n362/MiaJoieboutique/Blog/rosebelt.jpg or do you want it on a black or cream elastic band?

As for my mantaining my personal sanity, well, let's just say it's like chasing a moving target. Robert and I had a nice time at our fancy wine dinner with some friends. It was a very busy Sunday {we are remodeling our bedroom.} Having kiddos is both lovely and messy.... and chaotic. Last week, Aidan {kind brother he is} gave Mia something to drink--in a glass {not plastic} cup that he filled to over flowing with water. I gasped as Mia came speeding around the corner of the kitchen, feet wheeling and water sloshing. She spilled on the floor, slipped on the spill and send the glass and water hurling through the air--little shards of glass went careening across the wood floor covering a good 15 foot radius. Both kids were corraled upstairs {making a whole new set of mess} while I swept and mopped every remaining bit of glass. Sometimes it's a crazy life, ya know?

i think i like the braided band.

the stupid cat brought 2 long flourescent lights crashing down in the utility room about 3 weeks ago.. and i am still finding shards of glass in my toe when i do laundry. ugh!

I had a break the other day. AS in dish BREAK. My daughter managed to get on the table again(14mo). I was washing dishes and I had my back toward her. I thought the table was clear and I turn around and she is holding a ceramic type bowl. She smiles at me maliciously and threw it like a fast ball. It shattered to what seemed like a million pieces and sharp, none the less. What a fun time cleaning! She is such a good girl:) (tear)
