Soiree Swoon

Photobucket

If you have ever purchased designer fabric, then you know the name Michael Miller, one of the leading national fabric companies. Well, I was absolutely tickled pink when design maven Paula Prass of Michael Miller asked me if she could send me some of her fabric from her new line, Summer Soiree to make shoes.

The prints are vivid and the colors inspiring; in fact, I am brimming with ideas for some super saucy new shoe designs. For now, though, they exist only in my mind's eye and in some really bad sketches on random scraps of paper. I can't wait to offer a whole new collection of limited edition shoes made from Paula's designs. In the mean time, I have two pictures to entice you and give you a little sneak peak at the color pallette. The picture below is of my little niece, Ella, who has gorgeous blue eyes that she would not let me capture; as it was, she was stuffed with mouthfuls of Lucky Charm marshmellows just to be still enough so her head wasn't blurry. So, if any colors jump out at you, start putting in your sizes requests now.

Heraclitus said, "The soul is dyed the color of its thoughts." I love this sentiment, and it makes me think just as we should fill our mind with brilliant hues, it doesn't hurt to look at bright colors in tandem. A couple scraps of Summer Soiree is all your need to be thinking cheery! Thanks, Paula!

Oh my gosh! How about a size 7 (or 8? I swear her feet grow overnight!) in that first fabric (on the top)? And I need that headband your neice is wearing -it is amazing!!!

Thanks, Paula! :)

As for the headband, it is new and made it for the pic, but I can certainly make more.

Andrea, so the pink and green, huh? Duly noted :)

My goodness you're talented! Your able to bring out the greatest beauty in whatever you're inspired by! Clearly you're inspired by Paula Prass. I love everything you do. It's almost HARD for me when you post--esp. when there is a hint of something new you've made b/c I literally cannot WAIT to buy it...and there's never a time I don't desperately want whatever you've made. Visiting this blog is a form of slight torture. (but only for a time...eventually, ya list the stuff!) :) Thank you for sharing with us Jessica!

What an honor!What fun!
I know you will make them proud as you come up with new designs.
I can't wait to see what you design and provide! You already make the best shoe on Etsy and the cutest shoes on the market. Nothing like them anywhere!
You are going places! Lucky!

Thanks, everyone for all your enthusiasm! I wish I could ideas as fast as I can envision them. I was just saying to a customer that once and awhile I stay up practically all night just to feed my creative soul. Paula has me so inspired!

As for the black and white, I'm curious, what colors would you like that paired with?

I would love to see a green or turquoise blue paired with the black and white (though more predictable reds and pinks would be beautiful as well)!

I am a fellow etsy gal myself (themudpuddle) and have been following your etsy shop for some time now. Unfortunately I don't have any babies to fit the adorable shoes you make. I am also in Houston, and it is fun to see what locals are up to. I am excited to see your blog, I love seeing what others come up with.

Mud Puddle, I saw your shop--it's cute. Love the little girl belt--what a steal! How are you liking the Houston heat? It's sweltering for me.

Just an FYI, I just listed the last headband for now. :)

Aghhh! I missed the headband!! Crud. "My Ella" needs one! The near-hairless wonder (oops- I wrote head-less first, that's not the case)
Ella is near walking, I give her a month. I would LOVE to see one of the black/white prints with two bright flowers. Close toe. Yummy :)

Go away heat!
