Alex Boots and What's Coming

I have a lot to do, but I said "boy items coming Friday," so boy items I will provide! This is a test run of several boots, all in this pattern. I actually had intented to have the blue fabric side out on top, but a customer said she really wanted something all brown--right, A? I also made a similar pair in a mod green print with suede toe. All these boots have super soft insoles. I'm still dilberating over it all, and {to be honest} am feeling super cranky because our A/C isn't working and it's 85 in here. I am only going to list a few pair of these boots in size 3 tomorrow, but I'd love it if you would let me know your size and color preferences, as I need to order some materials to make more. I hand dyed the laces, and I think these boots would be really cute with red laces or orange and coordinating mod fabric. I'm going to update Twitter now with what I will be listing tomorrow. I'm sorry to say that it's not that much. My production is at an all time low right now. I'll write more about why when I am in a better mood. Hope you in the Northern parts are enjoying a nice fall day!

This is just what I imagined...LOVE THEM... Great job!! Okay now I hope I will get a pair and a pair of the green ones. Jude seriously needs some shoes and hopefully I will have him in MJ couture shortly ;)

Sorry about your air being out :( this must have been a very long day for you.

That's great, Alisha! I'll send you an email in a bit. Off to accompany Robert to a wine tasting--and get out of this heat! :)

Awww, that sounds miserable! I froze when I walked out this morning to 44 degrees but we did end up having a very nice fall day! I love this new design as well. I think I tend to lean towards more browns and simpler patterns in the boy shoes as well. I love it when you use masculine fabrics such as the faux leather or even tweed/cordoroy/herringbone/plaid fabrics. The alex shoes are awesome and I'm loving the idea of red laces (the blue looks pretty awesome as well). I would be interested in sizes 2, 3 and 4 (probably the brown ones here but I'm looking forward to seeing the green as well!) but would happily buy and gift anywhere from a 2-6!

You probably don't need any ideas but I have been searching everywhere for some plaids in darker colors (thinking forest green, navy, gray & cranberry), every thought of doing a design in a plaid?

Okay sounds good, I will be watching for it...
Have a lovely time with Robert and the wine tonight ;)

Still stalking you...

And since your AC is out... I thought I'd share a little bit of happiness. My girlfriend received the shoes I bought for her baby shower(thanks for sending them directly) and had this to say...

"You must know that I am obsessed with them. I show them to everyone that comes over. I can't wait to dress up a million outfits with them. Marisa is clearly a fashionista! Thank you my friend."

Thank you!
Rocio

Hand dyed the laces?? wow! so impressed and just perfect, of course! :)

Well, it looks like I might be here tomorrow, so perhaps I have a chance at getting my shoes... :)

And Jen, 44 degrees? UGH..sooo not fair! PLEASE send some of that our way! We went to the city {San Fran} today, and it was even hot there. Where is the fall weather?

It's so interesting to me to read about everyone's varied weather. I grew up in the Chicagoland area, then lived in Michigan 9 years before I moved to Houston. We've been here 4 years now, and it's odd... I feel like I am losing touch with how northern weather used to be {I can't imagine 44 degrees in Sept} but I'm still not used to the heat. Anyway, I didn't realize California was as hot as Houston! I hope those boots won't be too warm for your little J, Alisha. Maybe I should make a pair w/o fuzzy insoles?

Love those shoes. I like them just like they are in the picture above and I need a size 3 :-) I'll keep an eye out & fingers crossed.

PS Not sure if you are planning on making any low tops but I'm also interested in a low top size 3, it's still warm here in Phoenix.

Thanks, L

It gets pretty chilly here in Stockton so the fuzzy insoles should be fine. It was actually in the 40's the other morning. And we will be in Michigan in December and you know how cold it gets there :)

I hope you and Robert had a wonderful evening at the wine tasting...

Love those dang cute boots and I love that you hand dyed the laces. Your work is amazing and very well thought out.
Sorry to hear about the a/c...that would make me grumpy too... Although the wine tasting would bring my mood around pretty quickly ;)
Hope it's cooling down there!

Hope the wine tasting brightened up your day Jessica and the A/C is back up & running!

Also, I know these boots are meant for little boys BUT, I think they would be perfectly victorian-esque with my daughters longer dresses.
Would you maybe make some all brown with a feminine fabric inside?

That would be amazing<3

I hope your AC starts working. I canNOT take the heat.

Hi, Sara. Thanks for your note... good thought on the boots. {Thanks, Jen, for your color suggestions in a prior email, too} Back to the girl boots, I think I would want them quite a bit taller--like twice as tall, and maybe with a scalopped cut to them. I think that would be cute.

AS for the A/C, it's on and off. We're having a service guy come out today. It's cooler today, though, and YES taking the kiddos to my parent's so I could go drink wine with Robert definitely helped. :)

LOVE LOVE LOVE the tall girl boots. Little Evy would look stunning in them. Size 2 please! :)

Just a general comment, if you tried to purchase shoes from me and didn't get some, I just want to say I'm really sorry! That must be frustrating!! I truly wish I was able to take every order, but for the health of myself and my family, I just can't. Please know that I am working to increase my supply to better meet demand... In fact, getting that project underway is decreasing how much I'm listing at the moment. It will get less frustrating in the future--I promise!

How did I miss this? I thought 2pm CST would be 4pm CST?? Help!

susiemc705 said...

Curses, I went by this(http://www.timeanddate.com) site and it was WRONG!! The shoes look so pretty!

I can't believe I missed it!!! I am working and can't keep on task with my shopping! I try to "check in" when I can, but it's difficult.. so, my loss today is someone elses gain!!! Many lucky MJ lovers out there today i'm sure!

P.S.
The weather in California is that {change of season} type... getting a little chilly, not quite cold, still sunny though, I like it :)

Hope you're all having a wonderful day

Hello Everyone!! It is SO nice to be back:) I was having computer withdrawals, but we had an amazing weekend with great friends.

Jess, I want you to know that we ALL appreciate each and every shoe you make. That said we also love YOU and want you to enjoy and love what you are doing! We understand that the demand is so huge and that you are working your fingers to the bone....we are all happy to have received even one pair of your beautiful shoes; so when you feel bad that you aren't listing as many as we "demand" it breaks my heart. We are all huge fans and not one of us wants you to feel more pressured by our addiction to fabulous baby shoes!!!! Take your time and I promise you we will all be here waiting and excited...we all will get a pair of shoes when the time is right.
