Aidan just dumped the remainer of the Frosted Flakes {Robert's sugary choice, not mine} all over the floor. So, I was walking over the cereal, my nerves tensing with every crunch, while I finished making the grilled cheese for the kids. That's when he spilled it. Aidan knocked over his entire cup of juice... all over his grilled cheese, the table, the floor. Ruined lunch. Sticky, soggy cereal. Ugh. Robert is working today. I am losing my mind. Any tips for slavaging the last vestige of my sanity???

Little Pink Dress

Mia was so tired... so not in the mood for pictures. The flowers can be worn as a belt around the waist or as a headband. It's removable, as is the ribbon at the neck.

Front w/o the flowers and pink tie

Play With Me

Try not to marvel at my photography skills using the timer. See how the electrical socket behind my Kitchen Aid is in perfect focus while I am... not so. Truth be told, I hate using the timer on my camera, and I like self-portraits even less. But I treasure the friendships created through business and blogging. I saw this post on another blog and thought it was fun. So, grab your cup of coffee and play with me.

Bity Bloom is Back

The Bity Bloom Headband in fushia is back, but in a pint-sized version and new pictures to boot. The pale pink version of this headband was featured by Brides Magazine.

What is it with me and an excess of fuscia, anyway? As I said before, like a moth to a flame....

When we got to the park {the door she's opening leads into it}, Mia immediately went down the slide in her new dress... and into a big muddy puddle at the bottom . I didn't even know it rained. I tried to take a picture but it wasn't as impressively messy as it was in real life. Anyway, happy Saturday! What are you up to this weekend?Photobucket

Sick... Again

This is a short post because, can you believe it, we're sick again over here. I was sick last night and Mia is sick today. Will it ever end?? *sigh*

Here are some pics of the Cassie Leg Warmers. They are nearly exactly like the Matilda Jane leg warmers in this picture. In the end I received so many emails asking where I got them or of I make them. Since MJ doesn't offer them any more and, to be honest, I got tired of saying, "no, they're not mine" I decided to make a similar version, though a bit brighter and more spring-y.

Here, also are two OOAK pairs of shoes. I'm going to offer them here first. If they don't sell on the blog, then I'll take them to etsy, but you blog readers will get them for a better price :) Remember I only have one of each pair, so you're really getting a unique item!

These look black and pink, but they are actually a very dark brown. While I typically appreciate my pictures, these are even cuter in person. Size 4 only!

These are classic and vintage looking. The faux leather wipes clean. Size 3 only!!

Use the paypal link below to see the price and/or to order. If the paypal link is gone, that means they sold. Hope you are having a lovely week. I miss blogging more :(

Both shoes are sold.

Cinderella Shoes

While I was creating new spring designs {a long time ago} I made several different types of shoes. Some of these I decided that I did not want to sell in mass quantities. So, I will be offering a few one-of-a-kind shoes on my blog only. One of these are the blue shoes above. I call them Cinderella Shoes because the blue reminds me of Cinderella, although Cinderella wore glass slippers so I suppose it's a misnomer. Regardless, these little booties are made from a dusty blue organic hemp. They have lovely little satin blooms with unfinished edges. The soles are non-slip rubber--great for a walking baby. They are available in size 4 only and will ship in 1-2 business days.

On a personal note, the kiddos are sick again. They both had a "double hump" virus, meaning the virus comes for 3 days, leaves for a few, then returns for another 3 days. Yes, it's as absolutely fabulous as it sounds. My washing machine has not stopped running, and I'm getting close to losing my mind. Aidan also has strep on top of it, but has finally had enough antibiotics in his system that he went to school today. Being at home with both kids and no routine has made me think about the summer, only weeks away now, and how I will manage it. The lack of routine and Aidan's knack for trouble create a volatile mix. Case in point, even though Aidan was sick enough to ruin every single cushion on our slip-covered sectional, he still found the strength to start an "art project" in the bathroom only an hour later. After walking through 6 inches of warm standing water in the half bath, I found him filling the sink with water and a full roll of shredded toilet paper. It was a spongy, sopping mess--and Aidan was having a blast. With that kind of creativity, the summers can be... challenging.

Back to talking shop, I do have plans to reopen on May 15 but not like how I have been open before. Even though this change is entirely for my own sanity, I think customers will greatly prefer the change. More details to follow.

Here are a few additional pictures. Another picture of the Josie Peep Toes that I forgot to post last time.

Mia having a little fun in the sun on Mother's Day, right before she started getting sick again.

If you would like the Cinderella Shoes, you can purchase them via the paypal button at the bottom. I haven't done a giveaway in awhile, so I will do another soon. Also, I have been very, very bad about emails lately. I have had a family crisis, 2 sick children, and an enormous amount of orders. It's been a miserable combination, and I have been slack about non-urgent emails. I will try to return some of those this week. I hope you have a lovely day!

but anyone can start today and make a new ending."

Picturing the Peeps

When I first made the little peep toes, some people commented that they couldn't picture them worn. I tried what seems like ages ago now to take Mia's piture, but all she would do was stick out her tongue at me. Then I received a crazy amount of orders and am just getting around to those pictures now.

As you can see, the shoes are really more open-toe than peep-toe. I've thought about making the opening a bit smaller, but haven't had any time to modify patterns right now.

So, here is my girl. It's so nice to see her healthy again. After having the flu for 4 days, it's nice to see her looking perky again.... actually, my little model looks a bit annoyed in this picture... :)

A little matching barrette. If you ordered anything from me in the past 6 weeks, I sent a free clip because I was running so behind.

Mia's hair is getting so long and curly! I did not expect that.

A sneak peak at a new design that will be available next week. Again, there are still so many other designs I still haven't listed because I received so many orders. Oh, I suppose I didn't mention the obvious, that I closed my shop. It will be reopened soon, but in a different way from before. More details will follow....

A picture of Robert comforting Mia while she was sick. I didn't mention it, but there was a case of the swine flu in our school district. It was very difficult not to worry about my little girl while she was sick. I woke up often in the middle of the night, just to stand by her crib and listen to her soft breathing.

As for Aidan, he has moved from on from stinky poo to ka ka. That one, I know he got from the playground and not from home. Even when I went to his school for Mother's Day tea, he let ka ka slip out once. Aidan just gave me this mischievous grin and wrapped his arms around my neck. That boy is trouble!

Aidan Got in Trouble

I know. I haven't blogged in a long time. It's been a difficult couple of weeks. So, please keep us in your prayers. In addition to that, I have been making my way through a tally of about 70 orders at it's peak. Phew. I'm tired. With everything that has been going on, I just haven't had time nor energy for blogging. However, I had to share with you how Aidan got in trouble today.

I was in the car pool lane picking up Aidan, when his teacher said to me in a very serious voice, "Aidan has been calling his friends inappropriate names today."

"Really?" I replied, concerned.

"Yes," she said, again quite serious. "I don't know where he is getting this language."

"You're kidding," I replied, my heart sinking. "What did he say?"

"Well, he's calling his friends..." then she leaned in so she could whispering it, "he's calling them... stinky poo poo."

"Oh, dear," I replied with feigned concern while inside--I was having a little chuckle.

I told her that we would discuss it with Aidan, and we will. But I don't know... while I don't want him to say it and certainly don't encourage it, I just don't find it that offensive. Maybe it's because I have 3 younger brothers, or maybe it's because Aidan laughs this contagious laugh when he says it. Honestly, I snicker a little when Aidan says that he is "big poop" and Mia is "little poop." I guess I'll have to work on that. My boy. *sigh*

Anyway, here are a few random pictures. Aidan at the butterfly museum.....

A new design for a custom order of sorts....
