Happy 4th Birthday, Mia!

I can't believe my baby is turning 4! She is not really a baby at all any more! Some days it's wonderful to see her growing into a young lady, and other days I am wishing it would stop! She is such a vivacious little girl, from her choppy bob she cut herself to her thoughts on... well, everything... which she shares incessantly. {Aidan's birthday is in 2 days--they had the same due date! I usually do a big photo shoot around that time of the two of them together.} I wanted to take at least one photo on her official birthday, so went to the backyard to snap a quick one. Mia had opinions about what she should wear, how she should stand, exactly how she should smile... and half the pictures were no good because she was singing Taylor Swift songs the entire time! It's so strange: one day, it's Elmo and Sesame street, and the next moment, Barbie and Taylor Swift! How the time flies! Happy Birthday to my little miss Mia! To quote your favorite musician: Oh, darlin' don't you ever grow up!

Jenni, Thanks for your sweet note. I feel like we are all watching them change together, ya know! I love that so many Joyfolie customers are in the process of the same journey.
The little crocheted jacket is Mia Joy - a sample for our clothing line. Mia was not supposed to wear it, but she insisted. We may add the flower pin for our holiday release... again, Mia was scavenging the studio for things ;)
Oh, Meredith, we prepped your shoes and completed most of your S shoes. Almost done!!!
Happy birthday Miss Mia! I just had a baby in the exact same location where you were born (even the same bed) almost exactly four years later to the day. Although I've never met you, I love following your growth and adventures. What a special little lady you are.
